Some people like dinner and a movie; we like dinner and a game. We recently visited the Barclays Center, the new home of the Brooklyn Nets, for a game against the Houston Rockets. Thanks to easy transportation options, we arrived early via subway and had many choices to choose from for our pre-game meal. We decided on Alchemy, a pub-style restaurant on the north end of 5th Ave.
As we walked in, we could tell it was a popular spot to grab a quick drink and/or a bite after work. The setting was cozy and the crowd was lively, making us happy to join in! After a glass of wine for her, we dug into a tasty meal.
Grilled Chicken Sandwich
Allen says: Lots of good choices on the menu but I decided to go with the grilled chicken. Bacon and chicken always makes for a tasty combo. What made this sandwich different from other chicken sandwiches were the pickled onions and garlic mayo…a nice mix of savory and sweet!
Fish and Chips
Kristina says: You can’t go wrong with fish and chips on a chilly winter evening! Alchemy’s version had the perfect crispy outside and tender inside. With a bit of lemon and tartar sauce, this dish definitely hit the mark.
If you haven’t had a chance to visit the Barclays Center for an event, you should go check it out ASAP. In addition to great dining options in the neighborhood, there are many local food vendors inside the stadium. Click here to see some of the options. There’s even a Junior’s counter for all of your dessert cravings!
Whether you hit up a game or concert, be sure to tell us about your next visit to the Barclays Center!
