Spending a lazy Sunday at some of our favorite Westchester spots is one of our favorite ways to spend a summer day. A few weeks ago, we started at the driving range at Fairview Golf Center. Being that it was our first time out on the driving range, it might have been a little more frustrating than fun…So to relax, we visited one of our favorite parks, the Scenic Hudson at Irvington. In between the range and the park, we headed to Tarrytown for a bite to eat. Tarrytown has some of our favorite places to eat but we were in the mood for something new so we tried the Sweet Grass Grill.
When we walked in, we immediately saw how packed it was. This was a good sign….we thought. We only waited a few minutes to be seated, but after placing our orders, it took more than half an hour for our food to arrive. Luckily the food was delicious! We started with complimentary muffins and each enjoyed a brunch favorite on our own:
Allen: The onions and pickles were the perfect compliments to go with the burger. It wasn’t your typical burger as it was made with black beans but it tasted very good. Also, I really enjoyed the potato hash especially with ketchup.
Kristina: It’s hard for me to go to brunch and not have a benedict of sorts. Sweet Grass offers a crab cake benedict, which was very tasty. It had just the right texture and flavor… and was washed down very easily by a refreshing mimosa!
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance inside Sweet Grass Grill. Most importantly we really enjoyed the food and their commitment to using local products. A huge Sunday crowd can throw even the best places off their routine, so we’ll definitely be back to give Sweet Grass Grill another shot.
