This time of year is all about being thankful for what you have while helping others in need. Part of the Solution (POTS), an organization in the Bronx is all about assisting others. One of borough’s largest non-profits, POTS provides food, social services and legal representation to low-income individuals and families on their journeys from crisis to stability.
Recently, we were invited to Harvest Dine-Around, a fundraiser at the Hampshire Country Club (in Mamaroneck, NY) to benefit POTS and their various assistance pr0grams.
At the event, we tasted great food from Baldor Specialty Foods and different country clubs in Westchester including Bronxville Field Club, Wykagyl Country Club and Larchmont Shore Club… not to mention the desserts from Longford’s and Sweet Lisa’s Cakes!
More important than the great food, however, was watching an inspiring video and hearing a great speech by Chris Bean, Executive Director of POTS. We got to know Chris during an interview earlier this year, so it was great to catch up with him at such a fantastic event. A big thank you to Hannah Vick for introducing us to POTS and inviting us to Harvest-Dine Around- we definitely plan to visit POTS at some point during the holidays.
