With a good friend starting a new job and half of FP turning another year older, we decided a celebratory dinner at Fortina Pizza was in order. Our friends gave it rave reviews so we were excited to check it out for ourselves. When we walked in last Saturday night, it was packed so we knew it was the place to be.
For appetizers, we started with octopus, fried meatballs, cauliflower and burruta. It was all good, but the burrata was KILLER!
For our meals, we ordered a pasta calamari along with a couple of pizzas for the table, including the much acclaimed Luigi Bianco pizza. Each pie was delicious and unique– we’ll definitely be back to give the others a try.
We’ve had pasta at many places, but we must say the pasta calamari at Fortina is right up there in in terms of taste.
Even though we were full, we were treated to dessert courtesy of Chef Christian Petroni. What a treat it was! Each of us indulged in tiramusu, affogato (gelato, hazelnuts, shot of expresso), ciocalata densa (cookie, olive oil, sea salt) and classic tortoni.
It was great meeting John Nealon and Chef Christian, two of the three partners of Fortina. From our conversations, we learned that Fortina will opening up another restaurant in Rye, NY and we can’t wait to check it out!
Besides the great food and service, you’ll enjoy the wide range of music and the classic movies playing on screen throughout the restaurant. Lastly, a restaurant with a picture of Bill Murray on the wall is definitely worth checking out so make sure to visit Fortina Pizza next time you’re in the Armonk area!Fortina Pizza 17 Maple Avenue Armonk, NY 10504 (914) 273-0900
